American Airlines pilot fails a breath test moments before take off.

An American Airlines pilot, whose name was not given, failed a breath test before taking off on a scheduled flight. Airport security alerted the police and the pilot was issued the test.

The breath test was given at London’s Heathrow Airport where a plane filled with 204 passengers were about to leave to Chicago.

The American Airlines flight was delayed until a replacement was found. The airline’s London office stated that “The company has strict policies on alcohol and substance abuse and holds its employees to the highest standards. Employees at all levels of the company are not allowed to be on duty whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol and regular screening is carried out.”

Many other pilots have been caught drinking over the past year or two, which has me a bit worried… how about you?
