Terminator is a serious, dark film which will be a thrill ride for most people although there is zero comic relief to lighten the mood occasionally.
Terminator Salvation is said to be a real dark film but isn’t this true of all Christian Bale movies? The Dark Knight was amazing but lacked any humor. With most action movies comes a laugh or two at some point.
Recently released box office hit, Wolverine, was a movie which had a nice mix of action with some humor. As we all saw with the notorious Christian Bale blow up, he has anger issues and isn’t a very friendly, happy individual. This attitude comes across in his dark and serious movies.
Some reviewers are worried noone will show up to the movie because of its dark nature.
Here are a few quotes from other reviewers about Terminator Salvation:
“While incoming director McG (the “Charlie’s Angels” movies) certainly gets a rise out of the machinery in the post-apocalyptic thriller, there’s little sign of life where the flatly executed human component is concerned.” - Michael Rechtshaffen, THR
“In Terminator Salvation, machines have exterminated most of humankind and run the planet; I think they made the movie, too. This isn’t storytelling, it’s programming” – David Edelstein, NY Mag
“Neither action nor Terminator fans should be displeased with McG’s work. Anyone expecting a genre-defining, science fiction film as explosive as the first two Terminators, though, are going in with too high of expectations.” - College Times
Is Terminator Salvation worth going to see? You be the judge.
