Twitter Styles

( 1 Vote )

When using Twitter, people have different styles. What is the best way to use Twitter? Well this article discusses the three main Twitter style.

I have been using Twitter for the past month and have managed to get about 1500 followers so far. I have previously known only a few of my followers while most of them I have never met before.

The users who I am friends with only have a few followers and don’t tweet too often. The users whom I’ve just met basically tweet all day about their website or product.

Whenever I follow a new person, I almost always get an automated direct message from them, thanking me for the follow and then telling me that I can get 23,000 followers overnight by clicking here.

I’ve even got some direct messages that have tried to send me to a weight loss supplement pitch page. Does anyone actually click on these links? I think it’s dumb that you are going to try and sell me something or promote your product to me as soon as I start following you.

If you follow me, you’ll get a direct message that says “I am looking forward to your tweets.” Now this is someone you want to be following.

This leads me to believe there are many different styles used by Twitter users. Some users post over 90 percent of tweets about themselves, their company, and their products.

A select few of users use Twitter for only networking with friends and don’t focus on themselves very much.

The best users use a Twitter style which involves in engaging in conversation with people about 50 percent of the time and tweet about themselves, their company, or products about 50 percent of the time. This mix seems to work best at getting full value out of Twitter.

I myself am not a 50/50 person but am trying to become a better “Twitterer.”
