Coughing is often a result of an infection, a cold, or allergies. This article explains many home remedies for a cough.

Gargle and rinse your mouth out with salt water.

Boil some water and add a dash of cayenne pepper. Dip a towel in the hot water, wring it out, and wrap it around your neck. Every 5 minutes dip the towel in the hot water again and apply back to your neck.

Take a naturally cough syrup made from equal parts of lemon juice and honey, with a dash of cayenne pepper tea. You should consume one teaspoon of this mixture when needed.

Consume some cough curing herbs, such as hyssop, vervain, and fig leaves.

Drink a combination of flaxseed tea mixed with a drop or two of eucalyptus oil.

A good home remedy is keeping your mouth and nose clean by rinsing them with salt water. This can help prevent the cold from spreading to your lungs.

Your cough could turn into something worse, so see a doctor if it worsens or doesn’t get better.
