Creating a Successful Blog

( 1 Vote )

Thousands of blogs are created everyday and 99 percent of them will never be very successful. Follow these steps to create, successful run, and monetize your blog.

You should always think very carefully when deciding on a blog name. The name of your blog is a reflection on your entire blog. The name of your blog should contain keywords that your blog is about. Having keywords in your title and subtitle will help you rank in search engines better. If you want to write about a new cookie diet you created then “cookie diet” should be in the name of the blog.

Choose a blog provider such as blogger.com, blogspot.com, or wordpress.com. These websites make it very easy to create and run a blog. These websites will let you choose a template for your blog and will make it easy to publish blog posts and edit things. If you sign up for a blog with anyone of these websites then the URL of your blog will be www.blogger.com/cookiedietblog/. A URL like this will never be as popular as a URL such as ww.cookiedietblog.com. To get a really popular blog you need to purchase a domain name and pay for hosting. This can cost you a few dollars a month but will be well worth it.

Start posting. You will need to get some quality content posted on your blog for it to become popular. Since you just created your brand new cookie diet you should have a ton of information to share. Don’t write one huge post about your diet. Break it up into many blog posts.

Make sure you use enough keywords in your blog posts so you will get recognized by search engines. You want to come up in Google if someone searches “cookie diet.”

Look for other blogs like yours and leave them comments. Make sure your comments contain some constructive thoughts in it and also contain a link to your blog. Bloggers may read your comments and then check out your blog to leave you comments.

Submit your blog to blog directories such as blogarama.com, lsblogs.com, and bloggapedia.com. These will help bring some targeted traffic to your blog and help make your blog more successful.

Use Google ads to try and make some money but only use a few ads in good locations so you won’t annoy your readers.

Stick with it! To build a large following of readers you will have to give it time and put in a lot of work. Most people give up on their blogs too soon.

Start a blog about a topic you enjoy so you won’t get sick of writing about it.

Try giving away a free E-book which could be only 5-10 pages about a certain topic such as “The Cookie Diet.” This way you can capture email addresses and can periodically email your readers with blog updates.
