Laser Hair Removal Preparation

( 1 Vote )

Preparing for laser hair removal is very important to help the procedure go slowly while preventing major side effects.

You must stop tanning and using self-tanner at least 2 weeks before the treatment. Wear SPF sun block on the area where laser hair removal will be done for the 2 weeks prior to your hair removal date.

The lighter your skin, the better.

Do not wax, bleach, pluck, or have electrolysis on the area for at least 2 weeks before the procedure.

To prepare for laser hair removal, you must stop taking acne pills and using acne creams because they make your skin sensitive.

Shave the area about 1-2 days before the hair removal procedure.

Take a pain reliever the morning of your appointment.

If you are removing hair from your arm pits then discontinue use of deodorant for at least 3 days prior to your appointment.

To prepare for laser hair removal, you should consult with the doctor performing the procedure to ensure you follow every step leading up to the appointment.

Laser hair removal is painful and will cause red irritation and bumps on the treated area.

Since you will have to multiple treatments to permanently remove hair, expect a few months of irritated skin.
