Poaching an Egg

( 0 Votes )

This way of making eggs is typically healthier than other methods due to the fact that you do not need oil or butter to cook the egg.

Fill a saucepan about 2/3 full with water and put it on high heat until it starts to boil.

Once boiling, add a teaspoon of white vinegar to help the egg cook and look better.

To poach an egg, you will need to crack it into a small bowl. Before adding it to the boiling water, you should spin the water, using a spatula or spoon, to cool the temperature.

Once the temperature is around 155-185 degrees F, gently drop the egg into the center of the pan, which will be the center of the whirlpool, and wait a few minutes until the egg is cooked.

Pull out the eggs with a slotted spoon so the water will drain. Once you remove your eggs, they are ready to be served. Enjoy.

To poach an egg, all you need is a saucepan, water, and an egg.

When poaching an egg, be careful to not break the yolk or you will just have to fish out the egg and throw it away.  If you do not let the boiling water cool down a bit, your poached egg will be ruined.
