Facial Hair Removal for Women

( 1 Vote )

Women and men both suffer from having more facial hair than desired. Shaving is the most common form of hair removal but there are other options. Follow these steps to remove unsightly facial hair.

To remove unsightly facial hair, you can do what most people do and shave it. For men this is usually a good option to remove their beards. For women, this is usually ineffective because re-growth happens fast.

Another option to remove a smaller area of unsightly facial hair, is to tweeze the hair. Although tweezing can hurt, it takes the hair longer to re-grow since it is pulled out at the root.

To remove unsightly facial hair, you can use depilatory creams and lotions. Typically, the depilatory is left on the skin anywhere from a few minutes to ten minutes. Chemicals in the creams cause the hair to basically start melting away. Depilatory lotions can cause irritation to the skin and smell terrible.

Electrolysis is an effective hair removal system but can be expensive. Electrolysis removes hair by sending an electrical current to destroy the root of the hair. This process usually takes awhile because each hair root must be destroyed individually and several treatments over a long period of time must be done.

To remove unsightly facial hair, you could wax. Waxing works well for eye brows and women’s facial hair, since it is softer and lighter compared to men’s. Waxing will usually remove hairs for a week or two but may be painful.

Finally, what seems to be the most permanent and effective hair removal treatment is laser hair removal. You must have a professional perform the procedure and it typically requires anywhere from 2-6 treatments to remove hair permanently. Laser hair removal is pretty pricey but can remove hair forever. Laser removal is a very competitive market and you can fight for a better price.

To remove unsightly facial hair, you should try the easier methods in the first few steps and if they don’t work well, consider a more permanent method.

Talk with your doctor before getting laser hair removal.

Some women bleach facial hair although this may leave you with a milk mustache look.

You should always try a small test area first before using a depilatory lotion, waxing, plucking, or shaving, to see how your skin reacts.
