Franziska Stegbauer, age 77, attempted to break up a sword fight when she died.
As MSNBC points out, the sword fight was between her brother-in-law and grandson. “Franziska Stegbauer was stabbed during the fight and investigators were trying to determine whether she died from those wounds or a heart attack.”
As she was trying to break up the sword fight, she was stabbed. Although she was stabbed, doctors were not sure if she had died from a heart attack or from the wounds.
The grandson and brother-in-law of Franziska were both injured in the sword match and went to the hospital with wounds. Franziska’s grandson was placed under arrest on a preliminary charge of attempted murder.
Franziska was not breathing when the police arrived and was said to be dead at the hospital.
Franziska’s brother-in-law, age 69, was said to be on the losing end of the sword fight with many stab wounds.
